Here are some questions that are frequently asked of me.

What is special education consulting?

Special education provides expert support to families and persons with disabilities to help navigate the complex world of special education. This includes IEP guidance, behavior support both in and outside of the classroom, and advocacy for families and persons with disabilities.

Can you attend an IEP meeting with us?

Yes, MEC can attend an IEP meeting. If available, we can participate in person or virtually. MEC will help clarify educational rights and ensure all services are being met.

What kinds of disabilities do you support?

  • Autism

  • Deaf and hard of hearing

  • Down syndrome

  • Emotional and behavioral disabilities

  • Intellectual disabilities

  • Specific learning disabilities

  • Other health impairments

If MEC is unable to support you, we will do our very best to provide you with access to resources that can assist you. 

Are services available virtually and in person?

Yes, MEC provides virtual services throughout Wisconsin and the United States. If you are located in the Milwaukee metropolitan area, MEC can offer services in person, at your home, a local coffee shop, or a public library.

How much do services cost?

Our fees depend on the type of service you need. MEC offers hourly consultations, packages, and flat-rate services. MEC will provide you with all the pricing options during the free consultation. Additionally, MEC has a sliding-scale fee for persons with disabilities on a case-by-case basis.

Do you work on weekends?

Yes, MEC will work weekends if it's scheduled at least a week in advance, depending on availability. For weekend availability, there is an increased hourly rate.
