A Path to Success for People With Educational Disabilities

Hello and Welcome

I’m Ben Marks, founder of Marks Education Consulting also known as MEC. We provide support to persons with disabilities in and outside of the classroom.

The world of education is challenging, but it’s even more challenging for individuals with disabilities. Using my lived experience, I can help make these challenges less stressful. I have worked with students from diverse backgrounds and ages. At MEC, I provide services within the K-12 and college settings, and I use only scholarly-backed methods to help my students succeed both in and outside of the classroom.

We Are Here For You

Because the educational system is complex, Marks Education Consulting is here to help you navigate the complexity. We provide families and loved ones with the support they need. MEC provides services for families and loved ones with the following:

  • MEC offers guidance for families and individuals to help navigate an autism diagnosis, therapies, and community resources. MEC provides coaching for families to help support making informed decisions to best assist your loved one’s needs. MEC can also collaborate with school officials and IEP teams.

  • We assist individuals and families who are deaf and hard of hearing. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring successful communication, accommodations, and access to other community resources to further enhance achievements.

  • MEC offers families guidance on developmental milestones. MEC will help families on how to best support the needs of Down Syndrome persons both in and outside of school. MEC will also work with you in collaborating with school officials and IEP teams.

  • MEC offers support for families of individuals with emotional and behavioral disabilities by offering coaching on how to manage behaviors, access community resources, and help understanding the diagnosis. MEC will create a plan to help support persons with these disabilities in the home and community setting.

  • MEC can support families of individuals diagnosed with an intellectual disability. MEC can work alongside the family by providing daily living skills, how to manage behaviors both in and outside of the school setting, and can help locate additional community resources. MEC can also collaborate with school officials and IEP teams.

  • This is what sets MEC apart from the others. MEC helps families and individuals navigate specific learning disabilities by drawing from MEC’s personal experience and understanding of having a specific learning disability. MEC provides personal insights and encouragement to help families and individuals advocate for their loved one’s unique educational journey.

  • MEC provides guidance on managing daily challenges related to conditions such as ADHD and chronic illnesses. MEC offers compassionate support to help persons both in and outside of the school setting. MEC can also collaborate with school officials and IEP teams.

“Mr. Ben Marks is one of those incredible professionals who can impact a family's life forever. I highly recommend Mr. Marks for his outstanding advocacy and expertise in navigating the IEP process. When my son faced challenges at school due to dyslexia, Mr. Marks provided invaluable guidance, collaborating closely with me and the district to review previous intervention data and ultimately securing appropriate accommodations and goals. His deep knowledge of dyslexia and special education was instrumental in ensuring that my son's needs were met. Mr. Marks was professional, supportive, and dedicated throughout the process, making a significant impact on our family. Future clients can trust him to advocate effectively for their children.
